Mission-Impossible Folk LPs = = = >> NEWS 2

Hello friends, please don't miss to read my profile, there are some explanations about policy and passwords.
I'm here as a Blogger since not even 3 days, I managed to post 10 albums, and my Megaupload account tells me that people have downloaded more than 350 times my files.  Where are these people?  Apart from a small group of Gentlemen, I must sadly notice that all the others didn't even bother to write a quick note.
   .........................................................................................................................
Three of my regular visitors reported me about a peregrine (I try to be as less prosaic as I can) comment that a certain Charles has posted on another blog, with absurd and contradictory statements about my blog and the way I generally deal.   So, I received a number of comments here, of people answering (certainly not so positively) to this Charles, but their emails of protest (which were first sent to the original blog forum) haven't been published by the blog-leader, Mr Lizardson, and today we understand that it was not his fault, unfortunately a big bulk of post doesn't reach the receiver... For those who may be interested, there's an exchange of messages in the post section, but fundamentally I decided not to give course to this debacle, I'm a pacific woman and I just wanna keep running my modest blog in love, peace and mutual respect (to quote our friend Lizardson).

Perhaps, I'd better make this blog of mine (where I pour a lot of my energies), private, so that only invited guests can access, and not people who show disinterest and neglection for the burden I take.
In this case, I'm very much grateful to the enlightening comments of Mr. Janisfarm!
Thank you, and thanks to the Gentlemen Gurnemanz, Hagen, Franz ans Semperes for their support!
A special greeting for MR. Lizardson once more.
............................................................................................................
Here you can write comments if you want, and you're welcome to do it, but I'm
not often online (practically only on weekends), not much time to answer.
...............................................................
I removed completely the 2 albums of Frankie Armstrong after a visitor told me that they both are
still present in other blogs. If you search through Captain Crawl, you'll surely find them.
..............................................
I was thinking to upload the scan of my vynil LP of FUCHSIA (Pegasus 71) because I heard the CD version and I found that "Me and my kyte", a song I  ADORE, lacks the instrumental intro.
........................................................................
I was also thinking to upload my vynil LP of Chicken Shack, "OK KEN" (Blue Horizon 68) because, again, on the CD reissue, ALL those funny dialogues are MISSING !! well, wot the FK.. !
But this is supposed to be a FOLK - directed blog, so, what do C. Shack have to do...?
Waiting for suggestions from you, visitors & friends.
...............................................................................................
By the way, the list of the CD reissues where the music, in some points, is NOT faithful to the original LP issues, would be long: if you listen CAREFULLY to McDonald & Giles, The
alchemist (by Home), Formentera lady, Shoot out at the fantasy factory, etc, you will notice that I am right ;) - - Not mentioning all those "TWO LPs in ONE CD", lots of MISSING tracks, see Living in the past, Vital (by VDGG), Recorded live (TYA), and those Fruupp, and Supersister reprints, etc etc.... GOSH!
............................................................................................................................

Stay in tune :-)Your Dame VANESSA

Comments and reply messages was the reason why we stoped posting in LOST IN TYME blog some time ago http://lost-in-tyme.ucoz.com/. Something like a 1000 downloads per album per day and 1-2 comments. But still i have meet some great people which share same love for music we love. ANYWAY your efford is something new and i am very happy that you have the will to share what i know you love very much. I should also note that most of the times the legal problems come not from the artists but from people that might have the rare albums and want to sell it for gold or would like to reissue themselves as bootlegs(MY OPINION!!). Maybe Blogger is not the best place to share and a solution is to move to another service like ucoz

So LADY take care and keep on, folk on. We are looking forward for your next moves.

Dear Janisfarm, your suggestions deserve attention, not least the fact of changing host and your theory about FAKE-GOLD sellers and bootleggers. From my side, I try my best, happy to please all folklovers :-) Thanks for being a Gentleman, an extinguished race nowadays...

MA DAME what i know for sure is that all these strange and unhappy things do happen but our love for music and communication is much greater and will never stop!!!(speaking for myself and for people who agree with me). So people who really mean this will find way to stay tuned with each other

Dear Mrs. Vanessa, I really would like that you publish my answer for Charles, what the Tudorlodge-logo Blog refrained from publishing.
Up to you, in any case, Thank you:-)

I guess I don't really see the issue of posting something that's been on another blog. Who cares? And you're the only person to note the difference in cd/lp of mcdonald/giles. This seems like an interesting site; however, i might need cliff notes for better understanding.

good luck,
rickk

Blackmask said...

Rickk, you got things wrong: the issue was to post stuff that another blog DID NOT publish. If you're not able to get the difference in the McDonald & Giles stuff, it's your loss, certainly not mine. I will tell you where it is, precisely, as soon as I have 5 mins free... Anyway, thanx 4 your wishings. Thanks also to Lefthandluke, now you know where to find me! :-))

Hey impossible. Just to clarify. One of the main reasons I like music blogs is to read the opinions of the people posting the music. Why they like it. What it means to them. That was my point when I wrote to Time Has Told Me.

I then went on question the point of a blog that puts up links without pws. It doesn't make sense to me. No reviews. Not even a focus on cover art. Just links to download files that one can't do anything with.

But you know, it's just an opinion, and just because I don't get something, doesn't mean it's not serving its purpose. I just don't understand its purpose.

What I do know, is that when you open yourself to the public, you open yourself up to commentary. My day job garners me criticism from strangers on a regular basis--some positive, some not. One has to develop a thick skin.

My comments to Time Has Told Me weren't meant as an attack; it was simply commentary.

cheers

Charles

Hello BML,
Sorry if i didn't understand what you want to say (i'm japanese).
Please don't misunderstand.
I'm publishing ALL the comments i received.
So sad if you call it Mussolini-style...

I received 100 times more negative comments about my THTM blog.
But i don't mind about that.
It's just a opinion.
We can't live choosing only good opinions for us.

Sorry again about my English

Love your blog
Lizz

Hospitality is a duty, Charles, so welcome to my vynil-hall. It's strange that you look for certain infos about musicians in a blog like mine, where pure, real musical files are posted. I make you an extremely simple example: If you look for a book, you go to some bookshop, right? if you look for shoes, you go to a shoe shop, logical? Now, Charles, You seem to me like the man who looks for shoes in a bookshop (or viceversa if you prefer), you understand? As one of my visitors (Gurnemanz) wrote, the right place to look for what you drool is a giant Musical Guide, or smilar books. In nany case, of the letters that I received, I will post the original email of Gurnemanz (which was supposed to be published on THTM, in the 1st place, but probably our friend Lizz didn't receive it). If you, at your work, are exposed to criticism, ok, it's not my business, but at least you get PAID for that, you don't make a volunteer mission, am I wrong, Charles? Because here, out of us two, the one who is at home is me, not you. And it's me the one supposed to decide how to organize my blog, otherwise I might have even decided NOT to open any muisc blog at all, I might rather have keep my beloved vynil LPs for mMYSELF only, and finished. But instead my objective is - first - to see if posting music brings me legal problems (my god, how many times shall I repeat it??). And AFTERWARDS, eventually, if things go ok, I will release all PWs, I don't understand why, still, this is not clear...? What if someone closes my blog?
Anyway, you don't run any risk, Charles, didn't you say you have already music enough, and that you don't need to download anything from me? Well, what's the problem? I'm sure you won't have anymore to bother visiting my site, and we're all happy for you. :-))
Anyway, on the contrary, if you are a real music lover, I guess we will somehow stay in blog-contact, who knows? So, thanks for visiting :-)
Your Dame Vanessa

Dear Lizardson, I understand that it's all been a big problem of post that doesn't arrive to the receiver. What I know is that at least three emails from various visitors were posted in your comment section, but they didn't see the light... Shame, because I too, in the past have written you a couple of times and my post wasn't published, so it's obvious that it's not your fault... Sorry for the expressions that you saw in my post on my blog, I will delete them. Real music lovers know that you are a person who deserves respect and admiration for all your work
Consider me your friend, till soon :-)

Thanks for clearing that up. And I do know the difference in mcdonald/giles (I should have added "besides me") - it's the omission of "pussy" from the lp version

Friends, Dame

what has started here is uniqe as what Lizardson started years ago is unique also because of love not download links.
I suggest to keep the love and spread it with music.
Personally i am really happy that this blog exists even if it will never post PWDs. We can just meet, share our love and opinions about music we love.
Things will follow their natural flow

Seeing as how you like Todd rundgren, any chance you have Peter Elizalde's Winter Playground Mystery. It's not folk, but...

Blackmask said...

Look, Folk music constitues not even a third of my LP collection, the other 2 thirds are prog-pop-psycho-acid-underground-jazz etc etc. I don't have anything of this person, but if this is the one I think, I guess he's a bit distant from Todd Rundgren...?
Good luck, your Vanessa :-))

Two messages of love from a nice person, Mr. Janisfarm.
One of them is listed here above, not far from this message of mine.

The second is:

"Dear friends, peace love and music.
Great respect to you both.
25 November, 2009 15:55 "

How can one not be grateful? :-))))

Hi Vanessa,

What a great blog with great music!

Is there any change to post Richard Digance's 'England's Green and Pleasant Land' and/ or 'How the West was lost' ?

That would be great..

Thanks anyway!

Karel

Blackmask said...

Dear Karel hi again :-)
Good news, both albums are here on those shelves you see, but so far I only scanned "How the West", while "England" is not yet inside my computer. Sure, it WILL be Great :-)

See you soon - Dame V.
